The transportation network, above, relies on RFID cards to track commuters in busses, subways and cars. WOOHAE CHO FOR TIME Monitor The Bus Information Management System tracks the location of city buses, calculates driving distances and times, and addresses traffic emergencies. WOOHAE CHO FOR TIME U-City The next step in the city's digital expansion is a project called Ubiquitous Seoul, or U-City, a program that will allow citizens to check air quality or traffic conditions via their cel phones, laptops or public access touch screens.
